- Compatibility: This replacement hi limit switch will work on Pentair Mastertemp 400 parts along with all the other BTU's. It is also compatible with the Sta Rite heater and the Pentair Mastertemp 125
- Fault: You will know to change out the hi-limit switch when the HLS LED indicator is illuminated. HLS is short for High Limit Switch. The upgraded Pentair boards will also say HLS on the main display.
- Location: The high limit switch is located within the heater on the black manifold next to the other sensors. The two wires connecting to the sensor will be plugged in when opening.
- Purpose: The purpose of this sensor is to measure the turn off the heater if the water temperature reaches the HIGH TEMPERATURE LIMIT of 135°F. This is to ensure system safety.
- How to Install: Turn off the pump and all the electricity going to the pool heater. Disconnect the two wires of the sensor and unthread the sensor out. Plug your new one in and redo the connections.
