Stone Creek™ Zug Bug – Bead Head & Standard

The Stone Creek™ Zug Bug is a classic old-school nymph pattern that continues to produce fish in rivers, streams, lakes, and tailwaters across the country. Originally designed to imitate caddis nymphs, this proven fly features a flashy peacock herl body that serves as a powerful attractor while maintaining the natural buggy appearance trout find irresistible.

Available in both Standard and Bead Head styles, the Zug Bug offers anglers the flexibility to match varying water depths and conditions. The Standard version provides a natural drift in shallower water, while the Bead Head version quickly reaches deeper feeding zones where trout often hold.

Its unique tail, peacock herl body, and lifelike movement make the Zug Bug effective in a wide variety of fishing situations. Smaller sizes closely imitate caddis and mayfly nymphs, while larger sizes can also suggest stonefly and salmonfly nymphs. This versatility has made the Zug Bug a staple fly in trout boxes for generations.
