99pts James Suckling

Experience Oreno Sette Ponti 2022, a Tuscan masterpiece showcasing the best of Maremma. Aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, and tobacco leaf lead to a palate of dark chocolate, espresso, and savory herbs. Robust tannins and impeccable balance ensure a powerful, enduring finish.

92pts Wine Spectator

Lush and fruity, offering a core of cherry, black currant and blackberry flavors shaded by spice and graphite accents. A firm version, with medium density and a long, fresh finish.

91pts Jane Anson

Creamy raspberry on the opening, fine tannins, well structured, a little austere at this point, pulled in with chamomile and tobacco, fresh and cooling mint is a welcome addition through the mid palate. This is well constructed, but a little ungenerous with a flash of heat, reflecting a challengingly hot and dry vintage in Tuscany. Heavy bottle. 12 months in bottle after ageing before release. Tasted twice.

Winemaker Notes

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
