Zinfandel is typically a powerhouse red wine and this 2019 Vespertine Zin is no exception. With a robust complexity and vibrant fruit aroma only found in a great bottle of Zin, this vintage teems with delightful undertones of toasted spice. Expect an aroma of mixed berry pie and toasted coconut on the nose complemented by the first sip of blackberry, spicy cherry, coconut cream, and hints of white pepper. Typical of Zinfandel, the finish evokes sweet leather and layers of vanilla and coconut from Vespertine's American Oak aging. For this refined 2019 vintage, the weather proved hot and arid in Lodi which makes for great, juicy Zinfandel grapes. This climate allowed for a bold and vibrant Zinfandel that is sure to delight a more adventurous palate. While this Vespertine Zinfandel can hold its own as a main course, it also tastes amazing along with red meat dishes like beef tamales or a juicy portobello bacon cheeseburger.
